Give Me a Call
At a recent convention I observed a sales representative attempting to mend a relationship with a customer. As the conversation ended he stated, “Well, give me a call next week and we will get together and figure this out.??? I thought to myself, he wants his customer to call him when it is his responsibility to pursue the customer. Since I know the customer I’ve asked if they have received a call many weeks later- no call, no pursuit, no business.
For some, common sense does not come naturally. As leaders, we must continually remind and teach our team members the basics of the importance of creating enduring customer relationships and recognizing that their job, our job, is to take the initiative to build, repair and maintain relationships that last.
